Prompt engineering refers to the skill of crafting an input in such a way that it gives more accurate and desirable results from large language models such as ChatGPT.

In short, the theory is this: rather than conversationally speaking to ChatGPT, you should instead treat your commands as if you were delivering a brief to a writer.

The key is to use specific language and use as much context and detail as possible.

Think about these things when creating your next ChatGPT effective prompts:

1. Your objective, the format, the tone of the response, your intended audience and the text length.
   
   

2. Sum up all of the points you need to address.
   
   

3. Detail the specific requirements, such as not including jargon or asking for the first few paragraphs or asking ChatGPT to provide a summary.

ChatGPT Prompt Limitations

Now, even by doing all of this, you have to keep in mind a couple of things:

• ChatGPT is only trained on data leading up to late-2021, so anything after this date is subject to estimation and two.
  
  
• Although large language models are extremely clever they are still prone to mistakes and inaccuracies.
  
  
• Every response will need to be fact-checked and (most likely) heavily edited. ChatGPT does not cite sources for its responses either so you will need to verify them yourself.
