What if I don't follow the regulations in the AI EU Act?

Organizations that do not comply with prohibited AI practices may face fines of up to €35 million or 7% of their worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher.
For most other breaches, such as failing to meet the requirements for high-risk AI systems, fines can be as much as €15 million or 3% of worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher.
Providing incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information to authorities can result in penalties of up to €7.5 million or 1% of worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher.

When does it take effect?
Originally proposed by the European Commission in April 2021, the EU AI Act received approval from the European Parliament on 22 April 2024 and from the EU Member States on 21 May 2024.
