Before you can request STAP budget at the UWV, you need to pre-register with Growth Tribe to get an aanmeldbewijs (registration certificate).

New funding is unlocked every two months. The next window opens at 10:00 on 3rd July. Have your aanmeldbewijs ready so you can take these steps right away to claim your funding!

1. Log into the STAP student portal using DigiD
Wait time may be long – please be patient and don’t navigate away from the page to keep your space in the queue. 

2. Upload your STAP aanmeldbewijs
This was emailed to you when you pre-registered with us. 

3. Fill in your student ID number
Your student ID is the first line on your aanmeldbewijs and is also listed in our application reminder emails.

4. Confirm the course you're pre-registered for
If there's a course already listed for you, please confirm that it matches the one on your aanmeldbewijs. Otherwise, select the course listed on your aanmeldbewijs.

5. Complete the student background survey

6. Submit your application

7. Wait for the UWV's response
You'll receive a confirmation email from STAP if your application has been successfully sent. They'll then take up to 4 weeks to make a decision on your application. If you're approved, the government will transfer payment to us and we'll convert your approval into enrolment in your course.

Approved budget requests are paid directly by STAP to the trainer before your course begins; please don’t purchase a course first and expect to be reimbursed later!

The government makes the final call on eligibility. They officially state that you’re eligible if:

• You’re between 18 and 67 years old
• You’ve earned Dutch income for at least 6 months in the last 2 years

However, even if you don’t seem to meet these requirements, it’s worth double-checking! Log in at https://www.stapuwv.nl/login and click on “Vraag STAP-budget aan” to see if you’re eligible.

The government has allocated funding for STAP through 2026. The Dutch government has decided to discontinue STAP-budget after July 2023. For 2022, about €32M in funds (enough for about 320,000 people) will be released at the start of March, May, July, September, and November. Each time more funding is released, it’s allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Demand is high, so you need to be quick! This is why it’s key that you pre-register with us and finalise your application in the STAP portal as soon as you can when your funding window opens. 

If the budget for the period in which you’re applying gets used up before you’re approved, you can reapply in the next period by re-submitting this form. 

It’s simple - all of them!

STAP funds up to €1000 in training costs per eligible person per year. This amount entirely covers the cost of our on-demand courses and partially covers our live course fees.

If you opt to apply for the STAP budget for a live course, you’ll be contacted to pay the ticket cost above the €1000 paid by STAP before your seat's fully reserved.

If you’ve applied & already been approved by UWV STAP, it's possible to cancel up until two weeks before your course begins (as per our general terms and conditions). You'll find more information from STAP on this process here. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to switch courses once you’ve been approved.

If you've been approved and already started your course, unfortunately, it's no longer possible to cancel with us. You can withdraw your STAP subsidy with the government if they allow, but you are still financially liable for your course with us.
